I have a place near and dear to my heart for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration because my late mother, Dorothy Ida Hayes, had a brother, Daniel F. Hayes, who worked for NASA during the Apollo Space Program. The picture and documents show Dan’s involvement at NASA headquarters. My uncle passed away in May 1973.

On the 25th of October 1995 Elizabeth A. Beere from the NASA Access Help Desk (help@sti.nasa.gov) along with Woody Smith from NASA HQ (woody.smith@hq.nasa.gov) helped to find my late uncle’s biographical material displayed here. Thank you Elizabeth and Woody for finding and giving a home to the documentation.
